Puerto Rican producer and songwriter Jahdiel Román celebrates a new milestone in his career after receiving his first Dove Award, one of the most prestigious honors in international Christian music.
Román was recognized in the category “Spanish Language Worship Recorded Song of the Year” for his work on the song “Amigo”, performed by singer Karen Espinosa, whose debut solo album was produced by Román.
“I’m grateful to see the work and effort of such a great team being recognized, and even more so, to know that this project is blessing so many lives,” said Román, who has collaborated with renowned contemporary Christian artists and continues to establish himself as one of the most relevant creative voices in the genre.
The Dove Awards, organized by the Gospel Music Association (GMA) in the United States, annually honor excellence and creativity in Christian music across all styles, including pop, gospel, hip-hop, rock, country, and Spanish-language music. Winning a Dove Award is considered one of the highest distinctions in the faith-based music industry, comparable to the Grammy Awards in the general market. The 56th edition of the ceremony was held in Nashville, Tennessee.
“Amigo” celebrates the closeness, comfort, and faithfulness of God, with a modern production and an emotionally powerful performance. The song is available on all major digital music platforms.
Jahdiel Román is part of Rimas Publishing, a music publishing company that represents over a dozen Christian and gospel music creators. The company also leads Faith Sounds, an initiative aimed at elevating the voices of its Christian and gospel songwriters.
